There are two separate online places for Village Hill residents, businesses and associates:
- The Village Hill Neighborhood Association (VHNA)* Google Group (email listserv and website)
- The Village Hill Community (VHC) website
We recommend that Village Hill folks sign up for both!
The VHNA email listserv is great for emailing brief messages to the community. The VHC website is where the community posts events, files, news articles, ads and more.

The Village Hill Neighborhood Association Google Group (Listserv and Website)
The VHNA* Google Group is older than the Village Hill Community website. It was established by resident Eric Loehr. It has two main components: the listserv (actively used) and a Google website (not actively used).

Listserv
The VHNA listserv is a quick and easy way to send an email to all subscribers in Village Hill. It’s great for a quick announcement or question. However, it is discouraged to use the listserv for long, involved discussions. Instead, please use the Village Hill Community website Forums for discussions.
Once you are a member of the VHNA Google Group, you can:
- View previous messages sent to the listserv.
- Post to this group by sending email to vhillres@googlegroups.com.
- Unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it by sending an email to vhillres+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com.

Google Website
The VHRA Google group also has a VHNA Google website. Currently, this Google website is not used for much. So when people talk about the Village Hill website, they are probably talking about the Village Hill Community website. Members of the listserv (Google group) are also automatically members of the Google website.
The Village Hill Community Website
The Village Hill Community (VHC) website was created in 2017 by residents Larry Daniele and Vickie Healy as a place for a richer forum for Village Hills discussions, news, ads, files, events calendar, etc. It also contains a member directory and help desk. You are currently on the VHC website. 🙂
Only members can view the contents of the site.

No. According to the bbPress plugin Subscriptions documentation:
Subscribing to topics or forums allows users to receive email notifications of new posts.
- When a user subscribes to a topic, they should receive a new email of any new replies in the topic.
- When a user subscribes to a forum, they should receive a new email of new topics that were created in the forum.
So if you subscribe to a forum, you will hear about new topics created in that forum. But you will not hear about replies to a specific topic unless you subscribe to that topic.
When in doubt, simply go to the forum or topic you are interested in and check near the upper right. If there’s a “Subscribe” link, then you’re not subscribed. If there’s an “Unsubscribe” link, then you are subscribed.
On your Profile page, click the “gear” icon and you’ll see an “Edit Profile” choice:
After that, you can update your address, etc.
Most Village Hill Community (VHC) website content is only visible to members of the community. You must be logged in as a member to see the content. See How do I get a website account? for more details.
To be eligible for a website account, you must live or work at Village Hill (or otherwise be part of our extended Village Hill community).
To apply for a website account, please select the Register menu item and submit the Membership Application Form. An administrator will verify that you are part of the Village Hill Community. If you are, we will create your account and let you know how to log in. If not, we will let you know why your application was not accepted.
